Regarding the Meatballs
- 1 pound (450 grams) of ground beef (or a combination of pork and beef)
- 1/4 cup of bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, grated
- One huge egg
- Two minced garlic cloves
- One teaspoon of Italian seasoning
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Regarding the Sauce
- One Half a cup of homemade or store-bought marinara sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon of optional red pepper flakes for added spiciness
- Half a cup of small pepperoni slices
Regarding the Subs
- Four sub rolls (any substantial sandwich roll, such as hoagie rolls)
- One cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup of pepperoni slices
- To toast rolls, use one tablespoon of olive oil.
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, if desired)
