Firehouse Subs Club Sub’s ingredients

Regarding the Protein

  • Six ounces (170 grams) deli turkey, sliced thinly
  • Six ounces (170g) of thinly sliced deli ham
  • Four pieces of crispy bacon

Regarding the Cheese

  • Four pieces of cheddar cheese (or, for a softer taste, Swiss cheese)
  • For the bread, four subrolls (either robust sandwich rolls or hoagie buns)
  • To toast the rolls, use two tablespoons of butter.

Regarding the toppings

  • Two cups of shredded romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • One large tomato, sliced thinly
  • 1/4 tiny red onion, optionally thinly sliced
  • Regarding the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
  • One tablespoon of Dijon mustard
  • One tablespoon of honey, if desired, to make the sauce sweeter
  • Extras that are optional
  • Sliced pickles (for a crunchy, tangy taste)
  • Slices of avocado (optional; adds richness)
